On recommendation we secured a meeting with Chris Copleston, managing director of 4DSites, in regards to building a website to showcase our three restaurants and our delicatessen, to attract new customers, and potentially sell products from our delicatessen online.
Not having much knowledge ourselves about web development, Chris was able to advise and explain in a simple and clear way as what our various options might be, and show us the various packages his company has to offer, including the various search engine packages, with the help of a comprehensive and easy to understand brochure.
On our first meeting we decided to engage Soft Idiom to build and host our web site.
The aesthetic aspect of how the website was to look was very important to us as our restaurants and shop all have their own unique look and feel, and we strive to maintain a high standard of design element in all areas of our business.
Each of our three restaurants, and the delicatessen, has a particular interior design motif, and Chris was quick to suggest that we try to maintain the individual ‘branding' aspect of each of our businesses, on the website.
We provided Chris with some photographs of the interiors of our four premises and let him get to work.
Within a short period of time Chris came back to us with a unique and elegant web design, and also a type of navigational functionality that we had not seen before, creating a ‘mini site' for each restaurant and the shop...and crucially maintaining the branding for each premises by subtly incorporating their respective interior design motifs into the ‘mini sites'.
After only a few minor tweaks the visual design was just what we wanted.
During the development of the site Chris was always quick to respond to our emails, our questions, with clear explanations, in layman's terms.
With 4DSites, the added bonus and cost saving aspect, for us, is that we are now able to update various areas of the site ourselves using their CMS editor. The CMS editor is really very easy to use. We can change or update our restaurant menus online, add new pictures, change text in various areas of the site, or add new links whenever we want. We can upload photographs and info for our delicatessen products ourselves, update prices, and change stock numbers and many other things, without having to pay someone else to do it. And all without compromising the overall structure and functionality of the website. All it took was one computer sharing tuition session from Chris to show us how.
And when we eventually decide to start to sell our shop products online all it will take will be a quick email to Chris and he can advise us and can set that up for us.
It is of great benefit to us that we can call on Chris if we need help with something.
