Standards Compliance

Put simply, it is our job to ensure your website complies with all programming standards and accessibility guidelines - and it's a job we take very seriously.

That's why charities such as The Big Issue and Active8 have selected a 4DSite solution. We display our validation badges (bottom right) with pride. Click them now to check this website's compliance. Here's why it is so important...

Widest Audience

In order for a website to reach the widest audience, it must work across all common web browsers and versions running in all common operating systems and all types of configurations. If features are used by the website is should gracefully degrade if those features are deactivated or not supported by the web browser. Your website should also be accessible to people who are visually impaired or have other disabilities.

Search Ranking Implications

Search Engines such as Google periodically visit your website to index it and rate it for searches. This indexing software (called a Search Bot) acts like a very dumb browser. It doesn't run JavaScript, it doesn't read text buried inside images and it will not read pages that contain invalid code. If your website does not conform to standards and does not contain valid code, this can have a severe impact on search engine positioning, making it harder for people to find your website.

Working to Make the Internet a Better Place

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international consortium where Member organisations and the public work together to develop Web standards. These standards are published to ensure the best possible compatibility and compliance.

At 4DSites.com we do not consider standards and accessibility compliance an extra. It comes as standard with all our websites, at no extra cost. As more web designers adopt this attitude, the web will become a better place for us all.
